All About Luke:
Luke is a Field Spaniel. His beautiful brown color is called "Liver." The breed is relatively rare in the U.S., which explains why we had to fly Luke in to Oregon all the way from Indiana! Field Spaniels are related to English Springer Spaniels and English Cocker Spaniels.
Luke was born on September 3, 2002, and his parents are CH Tristan Del Prado TD NA NAJ (his sire) and A/C CH Waterfield's Lady in Red (his dam). You can see his mom at his breeder's site: www.nauticaspaniels.com.
We are grateful both to Luke's breeder, Danielle Brewer, and to Arlene Cohen, the owner of Henry, the National Champion Field Spaniel, for getting our new baby to us. We met Arlene at a show where she was showing Henry. She also had Audrey, her girl Field, with her. We fell in love with both dogs, and Arlene said she'd help us find a puppy. Well, she found Luke much more quickly than we expected, and the rest is, as they say, history.
