My cab is a 1977 Checker model A11 made by the Checker Motors Company of Kalamazoo MI.
It was specially refurbished by Coca Cola to promote Surge soda.
It features a 250 6-cylinder engine and 400 Hydromatic tranny, CD player, PA system, jump seats and Surge coloured paint.
It's great fun and is my daily driver. Kids love it -
and the inside is roomier than your mom's stupid minivan.
Checker was founded in 1922 and built cabs until 1982. They are still in business, doing Godknowswhat for GM and other manufacturers.

To promote Surge soda, Coke bought a bunch of old taxis out of Missouri and fixed up 40 or so of them like mine. These were given away in a variety of contests across the U.S.
Mine is #22, which explains my screen name.
I won mine in August of 1997 at the Kentucky State Fair. And then, I got to pay taxes on it!
Ain't free stuff great?
