Billboard Campaign

They are up, all around town in the most interesting locations where the Lord guided Adams Outdoor Advertising to post them.  We intentionally made no suggestions to Adams on where to place the billboards so the locations we have are a gift from God.  Yesterday we took pictures of all of the boards. We arrived at one board just as the workman was finishing the job--the paper was still wet!  At several locations I had an opportunity to talk to people passing by the signs.

Why “Courage?”  Courage is a strong biblical word.  The Lord spoke to Joshua three times about being courageous: Joshua 1:6, 7 & 9.  That is exactly what we need at Ingleside for God to take us to the next level.  But the signs are not about us; they are designed to bring hope to our community. We chose the word “Courage” because we believe that Americans need courage to face the time in which we live.  This week I was watching some TV when I saw a commercial that made me sit up straight.  The commercial began with President Bush encouraging Americans to travel; then several other speakers used the word "courage" at least three times.  I knew immediately that God had given us the right word for five of our billboards.

Why “Peace on earth?”  Peace is what Jesus came to bring us--peace with God and peace with our neighbors.  One day the world will be at complete “peace” when Jesus is crowned “King of Kings and Lord of Lords” You don’t have to wait until then to have peace.  Jesus said,  “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”  John 14:27

Following the last presentation of this year’s Live Nativity at our church, ten of us drove past six of the closest billboards to see our message under the lights!  Of course we stopped at Doumar’s to get some ice cream before returning to the church.
