facts.
87.7 million Americans have used an illegal drug.

1,532,200 people were arrested for drug law violations in 1999.
620,541 were for marijuana possession alone.

It costs $8.6 billion a year to keep drug law violators behind bars.

With all those people behind bars, and all that money spent, what do we have to show for it? Lot's of rich drug dealers?... yes. Millions of average Americans, who have spent time in prison for minor possession?....Yes. Less drug use and addiction.... NO!
