The Art of The Living Tainos 2
                  Ayes Art
This painting, The Everlasting Waters of Life, began as an idea in 2003
and the artist began his work upon it in the same year while working as a volunteer at the Lakeland Regional Memorial Hospital.  It was laid aside for a short time while the artist worked on a two part mural. When the mural was finally completed the work on this painting was begun again until its completion in 2004.
The work is in the style of the surrealists. It is an allegory that attempts to
speak about how Mary the Magdaline might have felt after experiencing her personal miracle. She sits there reflecting on how she became "more than" herself. These thoughts are reflected within the image on her right that attempts to depict her awakened spiritual growth and expansion. The rose that
sits above her head is symbolic of the great love that Jesus has for all of  humanity.

Look closely at the drop that is falling from his hands. You will see the symbolism that speaks of "becoming like a child again".

Look closely at the half image of Salvatore Dali. I say half image because his image has been fused with that of the artist.  Dali was the greatest and the most prolific of the surrealists of his day. It is symbolic and a visual paraphrase
of Dali's admonition to all artists: "You have to act like a genius to become one".
