Introduction
History The American Society of Military History was incorporated in California in 1962 as a California Non-profit educational organization. The goal of the society is to preserve and restore examples of American military equipment. We have exhibits from all branches of the US armed forces, Army, Navy, Marines and the Air Force. The museum has never used any goverment funds, all funding is through our membership, volunteers, and individual and corporate donors. We can always use more help, so if you have the skills and time please join our team and volunteer. All donations are tax deductable, we are a 501-c.
Hours The Museum is about 15 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. The Museum is located about a 1/4 mile north of the Rosemead exit on the 60 freeway in the city of South El Monte in the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area. The Museum is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday year round from 10:00 Am to 4:30 Pm. Since all the Displays are outside please call ahead if there has been recent rain to verify that the museum will be open.

Inside an M60 The M60 was the final evolution of the Patton series of tanks. See the differences between the M48 and M60 here.
Detail Shots Pictures that may be hard to find in reference books. Here we have some views of a M4A3 Sherman engine compartment.
