M60 Pictures
The M60's layout and controls are very similar to the M48 seen in the last set of pictures. It is a bit roomier inside but not by much. The M60A1 has a 4 man crew and is armed with a 105mm main gun with a .30cal co-axial machine gun and a .50cal in the commander's cupola. The combat loaded weight of an M60 is 105,000 pounds. This M60 is one of 2 given to the museum by the US Marines in 1995.

Ammo storage tubes to the left of the drivers position.
The breech of the 105mm cannon. The breech block has been removed.
Looking to the left side of the turret. The hole is were the range finder was mounted.
This view of a training turret shows how the range finder is mounted. The training turret is a regular M60 turret with cutouts in the side armor. You can see the thickness of the armor at the top of the picture.
Looking to the right and slightly back in the turret at the commanders position. The breech of the main gun is barely visible in the forground.
Looking at the rear of the turret. There are 21 tubes for ammo storage here.
The engine compartment after the engine and transmission have been removed for a major overhaul.
The 12 cylinder Continental supercharged diesel engine.
Another shot of the engine. The cross-drive transmission is in the foreground.
