| While a few, recent authors about dogs claim home
dwelling dogs simply look to owners for food and shelter rather
than looking for group/pack membership, my experience with tft's
[toy fox terriers] is the tft is looking for its group [pack]. If
you enjoy feeding your tft at the breakfast table from its own
spoon, well, it will enjoy that too. However, the tft is most
comfortable knowing you are really "in change" the
pack's apha; so, eat your meal first! go out that door first! and
then tell "precious" to "come, too" or to join
you for "dessert" [the words will be learned QUICKLY].
Any dog is safest if it comes immediately when called, sits,
stays, and waits until you tell it that coming out of the door is
safe. This chore is NOT for the weak of heart nor for one
expecting quick results; however, it is responsibility. [No, I
cannot personally claim all my joys do these. But click to the
