JUMPING LIGHTYEARS; The Evolution of Interstellar Travel Whole Earth Inner Space (1972)is once more available free on-line.

This is the 2003 book, available for $12.99 paperback or $7.99 ebook by clicking on the image of the book.

Jumping Lightyears

This is the 2002 book, Jumping Lightyears, which explains how interstellar travel is possible by jumping hundreds of lightyears at a time, the way the UFOs do it. It is available in paperback for $19.54 by clicking on the image of the book.

My ideas are mostly on 3 web sites:
http://users.aol.com/thales97/ (Interstellar travel),
http://users.aol.com/drhumph/utopias.html (utopian analysis, the science of civilization) and
http://hometown.aol.com/miletus1/mindsoul.html (Mind and Soul), over 100,000 words.
If you would prefer to actually have this as a book, buy Jumping Lightyears for $19.54.
It is a trade paperback, 337 pages. It is a POD book, so it is only printed after you order it. You will get it fastest from the printer
Xlibris. Or click on the book image.
Amazon and Barnes and Noble may have a better price. You can only buy the eBook at Xlibris. It is designed to work with Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is a free download. There will probably soon be handheld devices which can receive and display a PDF file. The eBook is $8.

At each of the above locations, there is a book description, biographical info about Dr.H, and sometimes an excerpt. The excerpt is chapter one, "Overview." Here I would like to give you a brief overview of "Overview."

"Overview" presents a philosophical argument based on the following scientific conclusions, discussed in more detail in following chapters.

(1) The only feasible method of crossing interstellar space known right now is Solar-Sailing, pulling an "Ark." This would take thousands of years to reach the nearest star. That is "slow exodus," not "interstellar travel." Physics does not allow interstellar travel, which is why professional scientists generally ignore UFO reports and support SETI.

(2) UFOs are interstellar travelers, jumping hundreds of light-years in an instant.

(3) Since they can't get here by physics, they must get here by the powers of the Mind, including levitation and teleportation (apports).

(4) Fermi's Paradox is the fulcrum on which my entire book hinges. He said, back about 1940, "If ETs are common, why aren't they here?" Of course, there weren't many ETs visiting us in 1940, maybe none, but the larger argument still holds. This planet has had water, oxygen and dry land (most of the time) for the past 1.5 giga-yrs. Yet, no alien ET colonized Earth. We certainly would have. But then, we are brutal, violent conquistadors and missionaries, multiplying like rabbits, out of control like kudzu or zebra mussels or the snake-headed fish. Therefore, it follows:

(5) ETs are not like us. They are like us in some ways, for instance, in all being humanoid. But they are more spiritually evolved. What does that mean? More or less the opposite of the line above "brutal, violent, etc.". As a matter of fact, it must be impossible to cross interstellar space unless a civilization and a people is spiritually evolved. Otherwise Earth would have been colonized long ago. The power to jump lightyears is not like technology, which any tyrant or criminal may possess and use. This is something the Yogis have always claimed, that "rishis" (powers) only come with spiritual advancement, which only comes after morality.

You see, this is really a philosophical book, with some scientific chapters. It is philosophical, in that I have created some new sciences, in so far as one person can do that. A science is, of course, a collective enterprise, passed down through the generations. Sometimes that happens, sometimes it doesn't. Toynbee laid the foundations for a science of history, based on the search for patterns of challenge and response, rather than cause and effect. So far, no one has taken up his banner and carried it forward. Likewise with John Locke in the 17th Century. He and Hobbes had created "moral sciences" which did indeed form the basis of the Enlightenment, and of the English, American and French revolutions. Yet, once again, no one picked up the flag and carried it forward. Until I came along. A lot of this book is devoted to details of the new science of civilization built on the foundations laid down by Hobbes and Locke.

Premises (1)-(5) are not mere speculations. There is a lot of science behind each premise. But that includes the forbidden sciences, like UFOlogy and Psychical Research. The vast majority of UFO sightings are junk, but there does exist a solid core of good scientific data. Likewise, most psychics are frauds or deluded, yet there is good scientific data for seven well-established Psi facts. Popular books in these areas are mostly junk. The good scientific data is published in monographs which are little known and hard to find. What is good scientific data? It is when you can rule out all the alternatives. It is not possible to do that with mysterious lights in the night time sky, which might have many possible explanations.

Incidentally, in the scientific chapters, there are lots of testable ideas, such as "anti-matter has anti-gravity," or the "sleep-dynamo." Neither of these ideas is very easy to test and both require a lot of special equipment.
