Theater Arts Program

THIS HOMEPAGE HAS BEEN MOVED. TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS PROGRAM, PLEASE VISIT http://theaterartsprogram.googlepages.com/home

This exciting program offers a unique theatrical experience for children. Each morning, children will engage in fun and exciting classes in the arts. In the afternoon, children will collaborate with professional artist/educators to create an original musical production. They will work together writing a script, learning dialogue and choreography, designing sets and costumes, and rehearsing their work. Each two week program will culminate with a performance of their original show for families and friends. Every child will have a chance to develop his/her talents in a supportive, non-competitive environment where creativity and teamwork are extremely valued.

Parent Questions

Frequently Asked Questions from Parents

Q: What will my child do during a typical day?

A: Below is a typical schedule for a day at the Theater Arts Program.

A Typical Schedule:

9-10 Acting
10-10:15 Snack
10:15-11:15 Music

Q: Does it matter how much experience my child has in the arts?
A: Not at all! We encourage all children to join our program. Whether your child has had professional training or has never taken an acting class, our program is designed to meet the passions, interests, and skills of all children and help them to all shine and feel proud of their work in our program.

Q: Is it better to sign my child up for both sessions or just one?
A: We recommend that you do whatever is best for your schedule. Each session will involve a different original musical so children signing up for both sessions will be equally challenged and engaged! An extra effort will be made to help children who can only attend the second session to feel welcome quickly and easily!

Q: What are the qualifications of the teachers?
A: All of the faculty who are in our program have gone through a rigorous interview process. The teachers are all experienced with working with children in the arts.

Q: What is the ratio of adults to students?
A: There will be two groups of children. Each group will have at least one counselor and one teacher with the group at all times. There will be 10-15 children in each group. The groups will be divided by age.

Q: What if I still have more questions?
A: No problem! We understand that deciding on a camp for your child is an important decision. Feel free to email TheaterArtscamp@aol.com with any questions you have. We’re delighted to be of any assistance to you!
