TIGER UPDATE
Tiger, our 22 year old Connemara stallion, was having troubles due to a large melanoma in his intestines. A procedure was done to decrease its size; he diet was altered to an all-soft diet. He is doing well, gaining weigh, being ridden and driving with his new cart that Heidi got him. We would like to repeat the procedure to diminsh the melanoma more, but still owe for the current vet bills. Donations are needed to bring us current, then to pay for a repeat procedure. He also needs a sponsor to help pay for his food. Thank you!

OUR MISSION

What We Are
The Epona Project is a group of horse trainers, consultants, riding instructors, sponsors, mentors, ranch management and horse rescue experts who collaborate in order to support a holistic program that uniquely serves each individual horse, rider and potential owner

Why We Exist
The Epona Project was created because of the many horses who are abandoned, neglected, unhandled, mistreated, sent to slaughter auctions, or improperly trained, that can benefit from a very specialized rehabilitative approach
No single approach to training or retraining fits every horse. Instead, a broad range of natural horsemanship methods provide the tools necessary to build or rebuild a horse's foundation It is that critical foundation that allows a horse to confidently and safely become a partner with its future owner or rider. Many horses sent to slaughter lack even the most basic training. Others have suffered emotional trauma at the hands of harsh and severe handlers. Some have never been handled at all and labeled as "dangerous." Most have the potential to provide years of satisfaction to owners including children and adults

Who We Are
The Epona Project staff diligently evaluates each horse and develops an individualized program to meet its needs. Before a horse leaves for a new home, it must meet a high level of criteria to ensure that each area has been adequately addressed
Without this process, these "problem" horses often end up back at slaughter auctions or neglected again. The Epona Project founders have enlisted the help of a broad range of qualified horse experts, trainers and riding instructors. This group works cooperatively during each horse's stay, directly benefiting the long term well being of each horse
