Here are a few pages with all the good care sheets that I could find on the individual species. I have included all the species that are commonly kept and I believe would be of interest to the beginner.
Green = Best Beginner species, very docile and can readily be handled.
Yellow = Beginner to advanced, Generally handleable but may be fast, skittish, or mildly aggressive.
Red = Experienced keepers only, very prone to biting. These are display tarantulas only and should never be handled.
Note that the temperament of individual tarantulas may vary. There are always exceptions to the rule. You should check out the individual temperament of a tarantula before you buy it, if possible.

A note on names: Common names tend to vary, depending on who you talk to and where the tarantula is at the time. Different pet stores could have 3 or 4 different names for the same species of tarantula. The common names that I am using on my site come from "Common Names of Arachnids 2001" 3rd edition by R.G. Breen. It is available from the American Tarantula Societie's website. If a * is listed below, it means that that particular tarantula species was not listed in the book by scientific name.
