The St. Louis Directory of 1890 shows Emma's father, a carpenter, living at 2137 Victor St.
The 1900 Census for Missouri (T623_894, supv. dist. 11, enum. dist. 189, stamped page #284A, hand-entered page #7A, lines 20-24, dated 12 June, dwelling 81, family 131) shows Peter Koeser and family living in a rented house at 2137 Victor St. in ward 12 of St. Louis. Peter is a 54-year old boss carpenter but has been unemployed 2 months. He was born in Jan. 1846 in Germany of German parents. He immigrated in 1882, is naturalized and has been in the U. S. for 18 years. His wife is Annie, a 50-year old German woman, born in Dec. 1849, whose parents were also born in Germany. She immigrated in 1883 and has been in the U. S. for 16 years. Peter and Annie can read and write English but not speak it. Their oldest child (19), Anna, was born in Apr. 1880 in Germany, immigrated in 1883 (probably with her mother) and has been in the U. S. for 16 years. She is a servant girl but has been unemployed for 1 month. The son, Ernst (14), was born in Jan. 1886 in Missouri. He is a water-boy but has been unemployed for 4 months. Neither Anna or Ernst attended school in the last year. Daughter Emma (11) was born in Nov. 1888 in Missouri. She has been in school for 9 months. The three children read, write and speak English.
Emma's father died ca 23 Jan. 1907 in St. Louis. His obituary appears on 24 Jan. in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Emma marries Edward T. Henne (-2G) sometime within the years 1903 to 1910. |
They had a daughter, Dorothy Virginia Henne (-1G), born on 13 May, 1911 in St. Louis. Edward died on 17 Apr. 1913 at their home, 3100 Osceola St. in St. Louis in the 13th ward. His death certificate (file #14972) states he was born on 03 Sep. 1885 in St. Louis of parents Theo. Henne and Emma Jarvis (or Javis), both also born in St. Louis. Edward's age at death was 27 years, 5 months, 15 days. The informant was Emma, his wife. The undertaker was Ziegenhein Bros., 2628 Cherokee in St. Louis. Burial was on 19 Apr. in St. Paul Cemetery.
George was the son of Theodore and Margaret Fuhler. George had four siblings: Mary, Theodore, Joseph, and Elizabeth. In St. Louis there is record of an Elizabeth Garst who married a George Fuhler in Oct. 1909. They had a daughter also named Elizabeth (-1G) born on 12 Jul. 1910 in St. Louis. This Elizabeth Garst Fuhler (-2G) died on 14 Aug. 1910 at the age of 23. Her death certificate is file #25604 in the MO Archives. Indeed her husband was Geo. Fuhler, and her married name was Fuhler. Elizabeth's parents were George Garst and Theresia Fuhrmann. Elizabeth and George Fuhler lived at 4220a Chippewa in St. Louis. She was buried in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery on the 17th. The daughter Elizabeth died at the age of 2 years, 3 months, 5 days on 17 Oct. 1912. They were living at 4210a Chippewa at the time. This daughter was also buried in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery (death cert. #34611).
Emma and George had only one child, Ruth Fuhler (-1G), born 26 Jun. 1915.

The 1930 Census for Missouri (supv. dist. 9, enum. dist. 96-475, sheet 21A, printed page #77, dwelling #409, family #459, lines 19-22, dated 20 Apr.) shows her family living at 4220 Chippewa St. in ward 13, block 5626 of St. Louis. Emma is 41 years old and was married at age 26. She was born in Missouri of parents born in Germany. No occupation is listed. Her husband, George J. Fuhler, is 44 years old and was married at age 29. He is a brick mason. He was born in Germany of parents also born in Germany. He immigrated in 1893 and is naturalized. Their daughter Dorothy is 18 and is single. She was born in Missouri; her father in Germany, her mother in Missouri. Their other daughter, Ruth, is 14 and is single and is in school. Ruth was also born in Missouri; her father in Germany, her mother is Missouri. All can read, write and speak English.
In the 1938 St. Louis Directory, Dorothy is the treasurer of the Fuhler Bricklaying Co. at 4220 W. Chippewa. Her husband is the president and secretary and Emma is the vice-president.
In the 1939 St. Louis Directory, Dorothy Corneli is the treasurer of the Fuhler Bricklaying Co. at 4220 W. Chippewa. Her husband is the president and secretary, Emma is the vice-president, and Ruth is a salesperson for the company.
In the 1940 and 1941 St. Louis Directories, Dorothy is the secretary of the Fuhler Bricklaying Co. at 4220 W. Chippewa. George is the president, Emma is the vice-president and treasurer and Ruth is a buyer for the company.
The 1942 St. Louis Directory has Dorothy Corneli secretary of Fuhler Bricklaying Co. at 4220 W. Chippewa. George is the president and Emma is the vice-president and treasurer of the company.
Emma and her husband George appear in the 1944 and 1946 St. Louis Directories but in the 1947 Directory, Emma (-2G), is marked as the widow of George J. Fuhler (-2G).
Emma is found in the Social Security Death Index; #499-32-7336 was issued to her before 1951 in Missouri. The application gives her birth date.

She died 11 Sep. 1986 in Centralia, Marion County, IL. and was buried in New Marcus Cemetery in St. Louis County, MO on 15 Sep. 1986. The Social Security Death Index gives her death time as Sep. 1986 and her residence at death as Zip Code 62801 (Centralia). |

Her second daughter Ruth married a Fickinger. She died on 26 Apr. 2001 when she was living in Zip Code 62801, Centralia, Marion County, MO. Her S. S. # was 493-09-9622.
A Mary Catherine Fuhler married a Bernard H. Nienaber Sr. She died 4 Sep. 1911
An Anna Fuhler married a William Bozdech. She died 12 Sep. 1918 in St. Louis area and was buried SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. She was a daughter of Katherine Fuhler.
