    George had at least four siblings: Mary, Theodore, Joseph, and Elizabeth. I do not yet know when they were born. There was also an Aloys Fuhler, but I do not know the relationship.

    George married Elizabeth Garst (-2G) in Oct. 1909. At the time he already owned a bricklaying company.

    His first wife, Elizabeth Garst (-2G) died ca 14 Aug. 1910 in St. Louis at the age of 23. The funeral was handled by Joe Foerstel Funeral Home. She was buried on 17 Aug. in Sts Peter and Paul Cemetery in St. Louis County in section 35, row 2, lot 308, grave 00012. An obituary appeared in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on 15 Aug. 1910; a burial notice on 17 Aug. Other Garst people are buried in the same lot.

    A Mary Catherine Fuhler married a Bernard H. Nienaber Sr. She died 4 Sep. 1911. An obituary appeared in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on 05 Sep. 1911 and a burial notice on the 8th. Was this George's sister?

    His daughter Elizabeth Christina Fuhler (-1G) died ca 16 Oct. 1912 in St. Louis? at age 2. Her funeral was handled by the J. H. Gebken Funeral Home. She was buried in Sts Peter and Paul Cemetery in section 35, row 2, lot 308, grave 00011. An obituary appeared in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on 18 Oct. (p. 20)

    George married the widow Emma Henne (née Koeser) (-2G) ca 1914 in St. Louis. He may have officially adopted Emma's daughter by her first marriage, Dorothy Virginia Henne (-1G). In any case, she took his surname.

    George and Emma had only one child, Ruth (26 Jun. 1915), who is then Dorothy's half-sister.

    The 1930 Census for Missouri (supv. dist. 9, enum. dist. 96-475, sheet 21A, printed page #77, dwelling #409, family #459, lines 19-22, dated 20 Apr.) shows his family living at 4220 Chippewa St. in ward 13, block 5626 of St. Louis. His wife, Emma is 41 years old and was married at age 26. She was born in Missouri of parents born in Germany. No occupation is listed. George J. Fuhler, is 44 years old and was married at age 29. He is a brick mason. He was born in Germany of parents also born in Germany. He immigrated in 1893 and is naturalized. Dorothy is 18 and is single. She was born in Missouri; her father in Germany, her mother in Missouri. Their daughter, Ruth, is 14 and is single and is in school. Ruth was also born in Missouri; her father in Germany, her mother is Missouri. All can read, write and speak English.

    In the 1938 St. Louis Directory, George is the president and secretary of the Fuhler Bricklaying Co. at 4220 W. Chippewa. His wife Emma is the vice-president, and his step-daughter Dorothy is the treasurer for the company.

    In the 1939 St. Louis Directory, George is the president and secretary of the Fuhler Bricklaying Co. at 4220 W. Chippewa. His wife Emma is the vice-president, his daughter Ruth is a salesperson, and his step-daughter Dorothy Corneli is the treasurer for the company.

    In the 1940 and 1941 St. Louis Directories, George is the president of the Fuhler Bricklaying Co. at 4220 W. Chippewa. His wife Emma is the vice-president and treasurer, his daughter Ruth is a buyer, and his step-daughter Dorothy is the secretary for the company.

    The 1942 St. Louis Directory has George as president of Fuhler Bricklaying Co. at 4220 W. Chippewa. His wife Emma is the vice-president and treasurer and Dorothy is the secretary of the company.

    George and Emma appear in the 1944 and 1946 St. Louis Directories but in the 1947 Directory Emma is marked as the widow of George.

    George Fuhler is not found in the 1944 or 1945 Obituary Index of the St. Louis Public Library. (The Therefore George most likely died ca 1946, probably in St. Louis. The 1946 and 1947 Obituary Index is not available yet. He may have been buried in New Marcus Cemetery in south St. Louis County.

    A Joseph Fuhler married an Edna, probably around the 1920s. He was also a bricklayer. An obituary for a Joseph Alousius Fuhler appeared in the St. Louis Post Dispatch of 21 Oct. 1942; burial notice on the 24th.

    An Aloys Fuhler married Alta Aubuchon in 1928. Perhaps he was the same person as Joseph Alousius mentioneed above. There are Aubuchon people also buried in the same lot as George Fuhler's first wife and daughter, Elizabeth.

    His adopted daughter, Dorothy, married Philip Wm. Corneli (-1G) between 1931 and 1935 in St. Louis? and had one child, Philip Pannier Corneli (0G). She died 09 Apr. 1995 in St. Louis. An obituary for her appeared in the St. Louis Post Dispatch of 11 Apr. 1995.

    His daughter Ruth married a Fickinger. She died on 26 Apr. 2001 when she was living in Zip Code 62801, Centralia, Marion County, MO. Her S. S. # was 493-09-9622.

    No other Fuhler is found in the St. Louis Public Library Obituary Indexes of 1880-1921, 1942-43 and 1992-2002 other than those listed above. Indexes for other years have not been created yet.
