Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery

Place: Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis County, MO


The cemetery is located in south St. Louis County, MO, near the Mississippi River. It is a U.S. government cemetery for military veterans and their spouses. The cemetery has a neat outside computer system for the grave location, birth and death dates, and military service information.
It has the following graves related to our genealogy: The (-3G), etc., indicated the number of generations before Erven Thoma.
  • William Winge*, (-2G) - one of my paternal great uncles, served in Navy before WWI, died 14 Feb. 1973, buried in section J, grave 1154
  • Albert T. Thoma (-1G) - my only paternal uncle, served as a cook during WWII, died 4 Aug. 1987, buried in section W, grave #745.
