Church buildings: First church building was dedicated in 1875. The present brick church building was built in 13th C. Gothic Revival style in 1896. Stained glass windows were made by Emil Frei Art Glass Co. Adjoining the church is a Tudor Gothic brick rectory, built in 1928. Buildings were purchased by the Christ Baptist congregation in 1982, but are now used by the Evergreen Outreach Center (or is vacant). The buildings have been nominated to become a City Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.
A priest by the name of John Fugel (b. ca. 1864) served the church ca. 1894-97.
The parish was organized in 1874 by Rev. Henry Jaegering. From the beginning the parish served German immigrants and their immediate descendants living in the area. It formed from within the original physical boundaries of St. Teresa of Avila. Its records have deaths from 1881 to 1978. Records are now at the Archdiocesan Archives (archives@archstl.org, http://www.archstl.org/archives/genealogical/index.html) and are also on FHL film #1870668..
