one of our paternal great aunts (click for a chart showing her relationship to us)
*marks my direct-line ancestors. The (-2G), etc., after the names indicates the number of generations before Erven Thoma
Siblings born before Margaretha were Adelheid (Adeline) E. Winge * (-2G, b. 23 Apr. 1876), Hedwig M. Winge (-2G, b. 13 Sept. 1877), and Martha Winge (-2G, b. in Jan/Feb 1880)
Her birth is found in the St. Louis Birth Register for 2 Sept. 1881 but she is named Emma Winge! Her father is Willy Winge, born in Germany and her mother is Martha Winge, born in Germany. Her sex, the family address, and the doctor's name are given. The family is living at 2110 De Kalb which agrees with the entry for William Winge, carpenter, in the 1881 and 1882 St. Louis City Directories.
Sometime between 02 Sept. 1881 and 28 June 1882, the family (her father, her mother, her three sisters and herself) moved from 2110 De Kalb to 609 Rutger St., both in St. Louis (city).
She is listed in the St. Louis Death Register for 28 June 1882 (record #3907). She died at age 10 months (almost) of cholera infantum which was a diarrheal condition in infants. According to the death register she was buried at Ste Peter and Paul Cemetery but the cemetery has no record of her. She could be buried next to her brother Robert. She was living at 609 Rutger which is where her father Wilhelm Winge was living, according to the 1882 and 1883 St. Louis City Directories.
