The given name "Maria"
*my direct-line ancestors. The (-4G), etc., after the names indicates the number of generations before Erven Thoma.
From the dates of her parents' marriage and the time of Maria's birth, it can be assumed that there were siblings born before her.
Maria had not been married before her marriage to Andreas Jäger.
Her mother, Magdalena Haefele, and father are cited in Maria's marriage record. But there are some confusing data that I have not sorted out yet. Her father, Josef Isele, was evidently married three times, first to Maria Albert (-5G) in Brenden. There is a record of a Maria Albert's death on 28 Oct. 1820 in Brenden (LDS film #1046727) . But if Josef Isele was Maria Isele's father, then it looks like Maria Albert was her real mother because Maria Isele was born before Maria Albert's death.
According to her marriage record (LDS film #0938923) with Andreas on 15 Oct. 1840 at the catholic church in Grafenhausen (Waldshut, Baden), her husband's father, Andreas Jäger (-5G), was the innkeeper of the Kronen Inn in Grafenhausen. That inn is still in existence today, but its name has been changed to "Titanic". Click here for the picture, description and prices. Her husband Andreas Jäger (-4G) took over the business later, definitely by 1874 (recorded on her marriage record), but probably when the father died in 1856. No doubt Maria assisted her husband at the "Kronen" Inn/Guesthouse which they operated in Grafenhausen.
Maria is also cited in her daughter's (Emilie) marriage record but Maria was deceased by then. Unfortunately she died 3 days before the wedding of her daughter. The death is recorded in the SterbBuch (years 1861-1900) of the catholic church at Grafenhausen (Gemeinde Grafenhausen), the original of which is in the Archbishoprich Archives (Erzbischl. Archiv) in Freiburg. The book has been microfilmed by LDS with other materials from the same church on film #
