Included on the chart of Fridolin Thoma's First Family
*marks a direct-line ancestor. The (-3G), etc. after the names indicates the number of generations before Erven Thoma.
Siblings born before Maria Rosa were Maria Anna (-3G) (30 May 1835) and Wendelin #1 (-3G) (5 Jul. 1836.
Her father was a farmer and also served as mayor in Oberibach.
Fridolin was the "Hirschwirth" in the small village of Altenschwand. The title probably means that he was the owner of an inn called "Hirsch" (in Altenschwand). Indeed, such an inn still exists in Altenschwand (see the picture below). The mayor's office of neighboring Rickenbach sent me an article that lists the owners of the "Hirschen" Inn and Fridolin is among them. Before then his father and grandfather owned the inn. His brother Andreas Thoma #2 (-3G) also worked at the inn. Probably also Rosa and her children. The records for much of the above info can be seen on the LDS microfilm #957339 (batch K969141) for years 1808-1875 in Altenschwand and in the book Familiengeschichte der Gemeinde Rickenbach.

One of the sisters of Maria Rosa was named Kunigunde (-3G) and an aunt was named Cunegundis (-4G). Her daughter Rosina's name came from Maria Rosa's middle name. She had a maternal cousin named Leo (-3G). I am not aware of any earlier use of Bertha or Otto among her relatives.
She no doubt assisted at the Hirschen inn.
She died 22 Dec. 1871 which was before her parents died, leaving her husband a widower.
