The ultimate fanzine for Spider-Man and comic book fans
"With great power, comes great responsibility." (Amazing Fantasy #15, August 1962)
Thwip! began as a 4-page newsletter within the pages of the Marvel Zombie Society Amateur Press Association (www.mzsapa.com), and was entirely produced by one lone comic book fan.  It grew to an average of about 20 to 32 pages per month, and then expanded beyond the MZS-APA to being distributed in several select comic book shops in the Midwest.  Along the way several features were added to the fanzine, some of which were contributed by other comic book fans.  Now, Thwip! is expanding to to the Internet, and for the first time any comic book fan in the world has a chance to become a published contributor.

Here's some information about various regular and new features, all of which are open to contributions from anyone:

Feature Articles - These can be about pretty much anything that is even remotely comic book-related.

Sketchbook Section - This can be several sketches of the same character or group of characters, or sketches by the same artist, or any other group of sketches that has a loose theme.

Comic Reviews - Reviews of new or recent comic books and graphic novels.

Classic Reviews - Reviews of older comic books, basically any comic about five or more years old, all the way back to the earliest days of the Golden Age.

Movie Reviews - Generally reviews of movies with some sort of comic book or science fiction/fantasy theme.  It's a pretty broad category, with loose guidelines.

Book Reviews - Pretty much the same guidelines as Movie Reviews.

My First Comic - Reminiscences and thoughts about that first comic, the one that first got you into reading and then collecting comic books.

Convention Reports - Information from comic book conventions.

Creator Interviews - Interviews conducted with comic book creators, whether in person, by phone, or by e-mail.

Top 10 Lists - Any themed list, inspired by David Letterman's Top 10 Lists.  Please give your list a title that indicates the theme.

Original Fiction - Original stories, either written or illustrated, featuring either original creations or, in some cases, established comic book characters.

Other - If you have something else you'd like to submit that isn't covered in these categories, use the "Contact Us" link below to send an e-mail and describe what you'd like to submit.  We'll get back to you and let you know if it's something that we can use.
