OUR MISSION
The mission of our Toastmasters' club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn fosters self-confidence and personal growth.
WHAT'S A TOASTMASTER?
A Toastmaster is a person who joins a Toastmasters Club to improve his or her ability to  speak with confidence, obtain leadership experience and to learn to listen effectively.
BUT I'M TERRIFIED OF SPEAKING!!!

Join the club (literally).  Practically every member remembers a time when the thought of speaking "turned their stomachs", "curled their hair" or "tied their tongues".  Not a pretty picture!  But in Toastmasters, you will find, as they did, that you are among friends.  You don't have to speak right away, but when you are ready, and you take that step, you will find that learning to speak up and out is not accomplished overnight, but through a process.  Toastmasters exists to support, encourage and cheer you through that process!
HOW DOES  A TOASTMASTER'S CLUB DO THAT?
At each meeting everyone gets a chance to practice their speaking skills. It may be a 5 to 10 minute speech evaluated by an experienced Toastmaster or it may be an imprompto, two minute speech requiring you to think on your feet. Constructive evaluations are the heart of the the Toastmasters learning-by-doing program. At the same time they provide practice for improving the evaluator's listening skills. In a year or two you may find that you actually enjoy public speaking!
HOW DO YOU GET THE LEADERSHIP SKILLS?
They are developed as you participate in various club projects and take on positions of leadership in your club or the area. Also, Toastmasters International offers leadership programs in addition to its speech programs.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Toastmasters' dues are less than $40 every six months, about the cost for one adult education class. What a value!
