Interested in Local History, looking for an unusual gift, a present for someone who has moved away from the village, a ............whatever ! You are now able to purchase a piece of history and a talking point at a reasonable cost from me. Produced from original glass negatives, of strictly limited availability these photographs were taken circa 1910 - 1914 around Maiden Newton. They are believed to have been taken by Jimmy Tuffin one time owner of the village stores. Some prints can be accurately dated in one case by the sign on a young girls decorated push bike - Maiden Newton & Frome Vauchurch Schools Fete Thursday 31st July 1913. Others by the decorated buildings proclaiming the Coronation of King George V on the 22nd June 1911. See 'SKIPS' house, Beaconsfield and the wooden footbridge - what else has changed? No white lines on the roads, bowler hats and soldiers on horses outside of the White Horse Hotel. - no T.V. aerials and parking a lot easier - just imagine!
Prints are supplied loose. Specialist printing requirements and handling of the fragile glass negatives mean printing costs are higher than your standard 35mm strips. The standard size of print is 7" x 5". (Other sizes available upon request). If ordering 2 or more discounts are available. No fancy marketing techniques Cost per print £9 sterling plus postage which is dependant upon destination. |
