All About Autumn Serenade
Patches of red, brown, and orange fur with a long, bushy tail that was carried loftily in the air. That was Autumn! A soft, silky, white chest and white paws that were velvet to the touch. That was Autumn! Playful and proud. That was Autumn!

Autumn's Favorite Things
One of her favorite toys was a small pet teaser that I kept on my bookcase. She would find it, drag it out and bring it over to me to play with. Of course, I had to stop what I was doing and swish it around her head. She loved to jump and twist to get it. Sometimes I would grade papers on my bed. Big Mistake! She would bat my pencil off onto the floor. Papers would fly through the air, or end up wrinkled because she insisted on sleeping on them. Often, my students would ask about little holes in the corners of their papers. Embarrassed, I would have to explain that I had a cat that liked to chew paper.

A Loving Friend
She would sleep with me at night, close and snuggled under the covers when it was cold, up on my pillow by my head when it was summer. She would take most of the pillow, so I learned to sleep at the corner. If you liked my cat, Autumn, then you might like to read the story of how she went to Rainbows Bridge. She was a Maine Coon Cat and if you would like to learn more about these "gentle giants", then click on the web sites below.(Photo used with permission of Rainbowsbridge.com)

Autumn's Story

|
Another one of my precious kitties has gone to Rainbow Bridge. She crossed over on July 1, 2000. She had been one of my breeding females and had given such sweet, loving kittens. She herself was a very loving cat. She had been spayed about 5 years ago and lived to be 10 years old. Her illness came up all of a sudden. We thought it was her teeth as they needed a good cleaning. But when the blood work came back, it was her pancreas. She lasted just a few days. My only consolation was that I was there for her. she died in my arms.
