Dear Sponsor,
The 1st Marine Division Association, Houston Chapter, is planning our Sixteenth Annual Charity Golf Tournament. This will benefit the Association's Scholarship Fund, the Houston Chapter's Book Fund, the Sgt. Byron Norwood Memorial Fund and Toys for Tots. Under the Sgt. Byron Norwood Memorial Fund we donate to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and Houston area injured (amputees, paraplegics, etc) Marines and their families. Toys for Tots provide toys for underprivileged children in the Houston / Galveston area at Christmas. The Scholarship Fund benefits the children of deceased and 100% disabled Marines who served with the 1st Marine Division. The Houston Chapter membership covers the area from Huntsville to Galveston and Beaumont to Katy.
Our Sixteenth Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Red Wolf Run Golf Club in Huffman, TX. Houston Coca-Cola Bottling, Silver Eagle Distributing, DNC Travel Hospitality Services and LaTrelle’s Management Corp. will provide the food and beverages. We are seeking other corporate and green/tee sponsors for the Sixteenth Annual tournament to be held Friday, October 27, 2006. We would greatly appreciate your support. There will be a live auction and raffle following the tournament run by Houston Oiler, John Schuhmacher.
A corporate sponsorship is $1000 for which the sponsor would have their corporate name displayed at the tournament site, on entry forms and advertising. In addition the sponsor would have a free foursome. A major sponsorship is $750 for which the sponsor would have two free players and all the other privileges of the corporate sponsor. A green/tee sponsor is $300 for which the sponsor has a sign is posted at their green / tee. Additionally, gift certificates, promotional items, and/or merchandise would be appreciated to be included in the gift bags for each player and for the auction and raffle to be held following the tournament.
For the small entry fee of $125 each golfer will receive a golf shirt, cap, breakfast, lunch, beer, soft drinks, and more. There will be several sports celebrities present and a weapons display. Participants will have a great time for a good cause. Entry in the tournament is open to all.
Enclosed is a list of sponsors and donors from the 2005 tournament. Please let us put your name on the 2006 list. For further information please contact me, tournament chairman. The 1st Marine Division Association is an IRC Section 501(c)(19) nonprofit organization and all gifts and donations are tax deductible under IRC Section 170 (c)(3).
