This summer , I rode 60 miles on the C+O Canal Towpath from Cumberland , Md. to Hancock , Md . Rough trip considering just being sick , temperature in the mid 80's and 22 of the 60 miles was muddy which made for some tough pedaling . The ride took 10 hours to complete and i was hoping to do it in 8 hours. I set a couple of personal bests for me , so i enjoyed my trip .
Next year will try for a 130 mile ride in 2 days or do the whole 184.5 miles in 4 days.
Highly recommend the ride to anyone who loves the outdoors , wildlife and the Potomac River scenary .
* Be sure to have a quality lamp if you intend to ride through the tunnel as it is extremely dark and uneven .
