STAN'S DIGITAL WORLD
STAN DIAMOND'S
DIGITAL DARKROOM

I give up. My purity is compromised. I finally decided to use Photoshop for my darkroom. It's amazing but I can't help feeling a bit like a cheater. There are so many tools to use and a such  a multitude of amazing changes that can be made to a photo inside the computer. The only problem is that it does seem to cover up a photographer's mistakes a lot- ones that should not be made. But, it is also another way to be to be creative and I do find that a lot of fun. Here are some of my results. Hope you enjoy them.

This is a modified photo of a bridge in
Dubrovnik, Croatia. A photo becomes
a flurry of colors with Photoshop filters.
Interesting  pictures can be transformed into otherattractive forms. This is an  interpretation of  of a street in Calcutta.
Caught this beach beauty having some
problems with her bathing suit on the
coast of Belize. (Texturized)
Figures just appear in the
clouds on the background.
This is a combination of three
photos from different places.
Looking through a portal on
the way to St. Mark's Square
in Venice becomes a fairyland.
This photo combines four
elements to make something entirely new. Fun.
Two little Burmese Monks become
an abstraction in Photoshop CS2
Digitalized image of a
Uygur Boy in the market,
Kashgar, Western China
Water Lilies from a lake in Western China take on a variety of appearances as the color hues and saturations are manipulated and other changes such as accenting the edges of the flower are done. How do you like your water lilles to appear? I guess the way that nature made them is still the best form. The temptation with Photoshop is to try many things in many forms. It's fun but sometimes reality trumps.
Of course, tinkering with brightness, color, filters,
and other features of Photoshop enables one to
totally transform an image while still retaining the
aspects which caught your eye in the first place
and made you take the photo. This is inside a
mysterious church in Chichicastenango, Guatemala
You can even move the bathing beauty
into an entirely new context you took an
earlier photo of, add a few other features,
and create an entirely new fantasy. Fun!
MY PAGES
Warning: Photoshop is highly addictive. I have been late to lots of events since I began began working with it.
