THE STREETATRICS AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM is a series of programs for high school students interested in a career in the Entertainment Industry. The word "Streetatrics" was coined by Triqueta Co-founder Jerome Johnson to represent the unique brand of Street Credible Theatrics that Triqueta has become known for --- a blend of traditional performing arts and Hip-Hop Culture. We have developed a MUSIC INDUSTRY PREPARATION program that has experienced great success in the Tulsa area. When Tulsa's juvenile crime rate spiked this past year it spawned many conversations among the artists and program developers at Triqueta Creative Group. We set ourselves to the task of researching what practices have worked best to reduce juvenile crime in America. Many surprising facts surfaced:
Afterschool programs have proven to be one of the most effective means of reducing juvenile crime.
Programs that are most effective are based on the interests of the youth.
Programs that are most successful don't only target "at-risk" teens, but involve a mix of students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
and perhaps one of the most surprising statistics...
Of the federal funds devoted to afterschool programs only about 2% goes to programs for high school age students, yet 4 out of 5 juvenile crimes are committed by high school age students.
After reviewing the facts we realized that we are especially equiped to meet the challenge because the nature of our programs have always
...been based on popular music and dance styles that appeal to America's younger generations
...been made up of diverse young adults from many socio-economic backgrounds and ethnicities
...been aimed at older youth and young adults more than children
with these facts we knew we had the tools and vision to create a program that is truly effective in helping a generation of young people who are increasingly at risk to be involved in violent or destructive behaviors.
THE STREETATRICS DANCE PROGRAM
an afterschool program designed for high school age students interested in a career in the Entertainment Industry.
The Streetatrics Program will use Street Dance / Hip-Hop Dance as the catalyst to explore creative excellence and an examination of Life Purpose as it relates to one's creative abilities. It will also educate students about the inner-workings of the Entertainment Industry, and allow an exploration of possible career paths in the industry.
Plans are underway to implement the Streetatrics programs in Los Angeles, not only the heart of many of the nation's gang violence problems, but also the heart of the nation's Entertainment Industry.

The programs will be implemented in Los Angeles and Tulsa allowing a unique network of opportunities for young people to more fully explore careers in the popular Entertainment Industry, giving them not just activities to "keep them off the streets", but a chance to explore their individual Life Purpose as a creative artist --- not just for the school year, but for the rest of their lives.
