The musical was workshopped throughout 2001. "Roofless" premiered in 2002 in Tulsa with an impressive cast of Tulsa’s finest young artists and was fully staged twice in 2003 in both Tulsa and Dallas, “Roofless” has received a myriad of positive critical reviews. Audiences, too, have expressed exuberant praise for the show. To date, “Roofless” has received standing ovations after each of it's limited 24 performances. Creators Tim Long and Jerome Johnson are now in the process of getting the show into the mainstream world of Musical Theatre.
UPDATE: In December of 2004 "Roofless" was selected as one of four new American Musicals to be workshopped by Stephen Schwartz, the Tony & Grammy-winning composer of hit Musicals: "Wicked," "Godspell," "Pippin," Dreamwork's "The Prince of Egypt" and Disney's "Pocahontas" and "Hunchback of Notre Dame."
