SUPPLIES:
Red, white, blue 4-ply cotton yarn
Size G hook
One CD
|
||||||||||||||
|
DIRECTIONS:
1, With white: Ch 4, sl st into ring. Ch 1, sc 10 times into ring.
2. Sl st into first sc, ch 4, sc in first ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, sk next sc on previous round; sl st into next sc. Rep. around for 5 spokes of star. Sl st into beg sl st. End off white.
3. With navy, ch 2 (counts as first hdc) in left side of first sc of any spoke; in next 3 sts, dc, trc; dtrc in sl st between points, trc, dc, hdc in next 3 sts.; continuing down left side of point, rep on ea spoke around. End off navy.
4. With white, join with sc in top of hdc on left side of one spoke; work one sc in first st, and 2 sc in next st; rep. around. End off white.
5. With red, sl st in top of any sc. Ch 3 (counts as first dc); work 1 dc in ea sc around. Join with sl st to back loop only (blo).
6. Ch 3; work 1 dc dec in blo of ea of next 2 dcs around. Sl st in top of first ch 3. End off red.
7. With white, Ch 1 and sc in ea st around. End off.
Edging: With white, working in front unused loop of round 6, sc, ch 1 around; or do a reverse sc, ch 1 around for braided type edge.
Slip cover over CD. May be removed for washing.
