Round 1: With red, sl st to band and work 40 sc around elastic. Join with sl st to first sc.
Round 2: Ch 3, work 1 more dc in same st as joining, ch 3; work (2 dc, ch 3) in each st around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3. End off red. Work in ends.
Round 3: Join white with sl st in first dc of any 2 dc group; ch 1, sc in ea of 2 dc group; ch 5, sc in ea 2 dc group; repeat around. End ch 5, join to first sc. End off white. Work in ends.
Round 4: Working behind Ch 5 sp of round 3, and working stitches in ch 3 space of round 2, join blue with sl st in any ch 3 space (on round 2); work 3 sc in ch 3 loop of round 2, ch 3; working in front of next round 3 space, work 3 sc in next ch 3 lp of round 2; repeat around -- working 3 sc, ch 3 alternating first in front of round 3 space then behind next ch 3 space. End off; work in ends.
This scrunchie also looks very effective working round 1 and 2 in blue, round 3 in white, and round 4 in red, as illustrated in 2nd picture.
