SUPPLIES:
Size D and E Hook
Small Votive Candle Cup
Small Amounts of red, white, and blue sport yarn
Glue on star spangles

With larger hook and red, ch 10.
Sc in 2nd ch from hook and ea ch across (9 sc); Ch 1, turn.
Sc in ea sc across, changing to white in last sc.; ch 1, turn.
Continue in pattern working 2 rows red, 2 rows white until you have 16 stripes (last stripe will be white). Ch 1, turn.
Sl st last white row to other side of chains of first red row. End off. Weave in ends.
With larger hook and blue, work 1 sc in end of each of stripe rows around to form band of hat. Join ea row with sl st. Ch 1, and work 1 more sc row with larger hook. Change to smaller hook and work 2 more rows of sc. Join with sl st; ch 3. Work 2 dc in front loop only of ea of sc around. End off. Weave in ends. Glue stars at base of red stripes around band, as shown in picture.
