Christy Lor McNutt
When I would come home, and walk in the door
My best friend would greet me, with love galore.
She would sit for hours, while I surfed the internet
By my feet, she would snuggle, my friend, my pet.
I knew the dreaded day, would eventually come
When I would lose my friend, my devoted little one.
The unexpected tears, the sadness that filled my eyes
Forever and a day, all I could do was sit here and cry.
Devastated, heartbroken, lonely and numb
An animal lover knows, where these feelings are from.
The memories of Christy, forever etched in my mind
This wounded soul will heal, it would take some time.
Not only do I have my daughter, Lori, watching over me
Now with Christy beside her, together, for all eternity.
I find comfort and solice, in thought and belief
It soothes my mind, as it brings my heart peace.
