Welcome to the home of 185 children. This is the orphanage in Belaya Russia
Meet two of the children.
The little girl on the left, has eyes
so blue you feel as if your going
to fall into them.  Sergei on
the right spends his life in his
wheel chair.  He gets around with
a lot of buddy help
Many of the children that have
been abused withdraw into
their own world.

Sasha has been at the orphanage
since his birth 17 years ago.  He
has hydrocephalus which has caused
blindness.  Sasha needs medical help
that cannot be obtained at the orphanage.
Loneliness is a problem at the orphanage.

The tender touch of LOVE.
Let there be no doubt, these children, like our sons and daughters, truly are children of the Lord.  They are to be loved and cherished.

Caring for these children is the hardest work that any human can do.  There is very little reward and it breaks one’s heart right to the core.  You enter a world where children from infancy up to age 20 are abandoned by families that are so desperately poor they cannot afford to raise them.  Many are handicapped, physically or mentality abused.  So many of these children have never know what it is to be loved.  Children in the orphanage at Belaya have been forgotten by time and their society.

A trip to an orphanage teaches one many things.  We learn the wonderful fact that love needs no translation and that we all share the same hopes, fears, and dreams.  We have discovered that we all have the need to be recognized, touched, and to be loved.  We learn that service is a key to breaking down barriers that have existed for years.  We discover that life is a precious gift from God. Volunteers in Mission are not exceptionally gifted people, they are people who simply make themselves available to God.

You can help make life a little bit easier and more meaningful and give HOPE to these young children.  Any donations contributed to the Volunteers in Mission program goes in full to benefit these children.  By doing this we feel that we give new heartfelt meaning to the phrase,
“To Russia with Love”.
