Story of Sasha
Sasha at age 6
Sasha,  July 1999
This is the story of Sasha.  A 6 year old boy who has lived in a Russian orphanage all of his life.  Born to poverty-stricken parents who could not care for him with.  He has lived his entire life in substandard conditions with very little medical attention.

Sasha suffers from Hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and he complains of severe headaches all the time, he also cries a lot.  His small body has many deformities.  I am told that he is a very bright boy.  I met him five years ago and was told that there was nothing that could be done for him, and that he was dying. He has lost the biggest part of his eye sight this past year. Yet, after five years and much pain, he is still alive.  I do believe that after all these years, God keeps him alive for a reason.

This past summer, while I was there, holding him in my arms,  I felt myself crying.  I even had moments when I seem to have been asking God to take him, relieve him of his pain.  Yet, I really don’t want this to happen.  My reason is very simple, I believe in the miracles of modern medicine and physicians in this country.  I also believe in the miracle of God and man kind.  So often I have ask God,  “Where are you?”  The answer always seems to be, “I am with you always, tend my children.”  How do I go about asking you to help me to tend his children?  What is needed?  What has to be done, for him and children like him.  Can we really get this child,  and many other children that has never known a life without pain, HELP?

In my heart I know we can.  It will take donations, lots of them and that is what I am asking for.  In what ever amount you can give.  Every day there is many success stories happening in this world. Can we make this one more success  story? It will take tender caring hearts like yours.  I am looking for an Angel.

It is with a sad heart that I must report and up date Sasha's.  It is hard to find the words to express how I feel.  I cried for along time and felt as if I had not done enough.  Sasha died at the age of 10.  A time in life when many are just becoming so beautiful.  We will go on with this jourrney of helping the Russian Children in the Orphanages there and all over the world.

This I belieave with all my heart.  God never closes a door without opening another.  I feel as if this is what he is doing with me.  I have fought so hard to help Sasha, in many cases dealing with his health.  Sasha's death means that I must move on.  This is my promise  to him.  He will always be in my heart where ever I go.  I promise to help the many that Sasha has left behind, and always be their voice.

Thanks to all of you that have read his story. If you have sent a small donation to help him, from tha bottom of my heart I personaly Thank You.

You can still help the many that he has left behind.  What a wonderful memorial that would be.

Where ever I go you will always be with me.  Good bye my friend, I'm O.K. now.
