& KRAFTS

Welcome to Dreamsweep's Site!
As any pet lover, I love to show off my kiddos. In the following pages you'll get to see the the entire "Critter Crew" in their prime. The Crew's kennel consists of 3Great Danes, 2 Afghan Hounds, and a Schipperke.
Dreamsweep Kennel was founded in 1995.
As the Director for Texas Greyhound Rescue & Adoption, I went to the Williamson County Humane Society (Round Rock, Tx) to rescue two abandoned greyhounds. That is when I met Tasha. Tasha, at that time, was a redish/black afghan hound, approximately 3 yrs old, and scissor cut down to the skin in some areas. She was highly depressed and thin. The humane society had been her home for 2 mths already. Being involved in rescue, I learned to distance myself from the dogs I met but something was different with Tasha...something clicked and I had to have her! I took the 2 greyhounds at that time and 9 days later, I went back and adopted my girl. On the way home (3hr drive) I had a daydream of her with a full, long coat sweeping in the wind...
After working with the afghan club in Austin, Tx, I was hooked on afghans and bought my show afghan. Thus when it came time to chose a kennel name I remembered the day'dream' I had of Tasha and her 'sweep'ing coat in the wind. And that is how the name came about.Although I do not have kennel runs , I believe 8 dogs constitutes a 'kennel'. Four of the dogs are mine. Those being 2 great danes, a show afghan "Kitty" whom currently is with her breeder, a mini dachshund, and an AKC Champion schipperke.
I groom, train, show, and rescue . Due to my husband and I seperating, Tasha was placed in a wonderful home, we miss her greatly but it was best for her since at the time I didn't know when or where I'd be moving. This is also why Kitty is with her breeder, a GREAT lady for helping us out!
Because of my love and knowledge of dogs, and my love for making things, I merged the 2 and started making crafts with images of dogs (and just about anything else too!). I make just about any small craft item. My main crafts include glass etching, sculpting, painting on any available surface, and anything else I can make. Not to leave out mixed breeds or one's love for one particular dog, I do custom work also from photographs. I do donate to good causes for fundraisers or trophies when asked and if I personally agree with the cause.

Please come inside, take a load off, and visit. Please don't mind the dog hair, and by the way the couch belongs to the dogs but you can take up all the room you want on the floor. LOL!
