TOWSON UNIVERSITY "TIGER" MARCHING BAND

Click me!!!!! Update for this site!!!! TIger 2000
Don't drop it!!! eek! Welcome to my page dedicated to the Towson University "Tiger" Marching Band. I have been in this marching band for 5 years (in the fall). Even though I have my "args" about Towson, I still have the "tiger" spirit. GRRR! :P I am part of the colorguard, which everyone knows is the BEST part of a marching band.

When I first joined the band there was a rifle squad. I was sooo excited about this fact since I was co-captain of my high school's rifle squad. Unfortunately, the squad was "killed" off until the fall of 1999. Ah, the joys of rifling!!! With the persistance and determination of five individuals, we were able to restore the rifles back to colorguard. (What's a marching band without rifles?!?!) The squad consisted of Angie, SaraH, me (Liz), KT, and Brandon (NO!!! HE IS SOOOOO NOT GAY!). (The names are respective to the pic.)
We're cool, we're hip
We were allowed to use rifles in the first and last songs of the show that year. The rest of the time we works with silks (flags, if ya didn't know). Of course, silks are fun, but not as challenging as throwing a rifle without braking a finger. Hee, hee! Back to silks...... well, there isn't a set number of silks. This past year we has a total of 15. There are too many names. (I'm not in the pic, since I took it... hee, hee!) cheese!!! I know that I've talked about colorguard, but that's what I'm interested in. Oops! :P The Tiger band is ALWAYS looking for people to join in on the fun. It doesn't matter if you have never twirled a flag or marched. We love to meet new people and teach them the ropes. We just love ur Rookies!!! (evil laugh) You can receive one credit at Towson Uni for this class. Um, the class is musc115 or musc315. We meet tuesdays, thursdays, fridays, and every home game (saturdays). We also travel to different universities and/or competitions (we DO NOT compete). One of the places that we went this year was Columbia University in New York City. We performed at the game and visited NYC. We were also able to see a show. (I saw "rent".) Towson University also hosts the Showcase of Bands and Tournament of Bands. Those are quite interesting!
Ahhh.... it's a lot of fun. Yes, it can be a pain in the neck (physically and emotionally), but it's worth it at the end. Hey, if you're lucky enough, like me, you'll get a nifty plaque that you can hang on you're wall and show off! Woo-hoo!!!! I love being in band. I'm such a band geek I guess. You know what though?!?! I know how to walk without bouncing, toss a flag and spin while it's in the air, jazz run (evil!!!), and a bunch of other crazy things. Join us!!!! or else!
