Washington DC report
While in Washington, DC, in April I met with the Federal Wage Determinations Director of the Department of Labor, again pointing out the huge disparity of wages between Ft. Collins versus Denver and Southern Colorado. I again showed the DOL the cost of living compared to Denver Metro and Colorado Springs' cost of living.
The DOL again sees the rationale for our compensation surveys and has promised large wage increases on the upcoming wage determinations for the next several years to get us comparable to Ft. Collins wages. If you recall, I met with Mr. Gross last year this time, before the wage surveys came out for Denver. That meeting led to a 14% wage increase in the Wage Determination. Too bad AmGard took it all back during negotiations by cutting the Health and Welfare! This year we had a real chance at making some liveable wages. I am hopeful that our efforts in DC are more beneficial.
Fraternally,
