RATIFICATION RESULTS
Local 50 members met on Sunday 2/23/03 at UGSOA Intn'l Headquarters in Westminster, CO. The ratification of the wages negotiated passed, but there was an amended ratification vote based on new information. Local #50 President, Ryszard Zurek, learned yesterday that Durango, Trinidad, and LaJunta sites have been paid higher than the wage determination for some time. AmGard's final offer in negotiations was less then this amount. Local #50 refused recognition of the proposed "final wages" for these three sites at the Ratification Vote, however, the balance of the Company's remaining final offer was accepted. Ryszard Zurek conveyed to Intn'l Sr. VP, James Carney, that he would rather not represent Durango, LaJunta, or Trinidad, if he had to take a wage offer back to them that is less than they are making now. James Carney stated that he would attempt to resolve this with AmGard on 2/24/03 prior to the Ratification Deadline of 2/27/03.
The TA'd CBA included a 4% Wage and Health & Welfare increase for Denver/Boulder. And a 5.9% Wage and Health & Welfare increase for Colrado Springs.
