Local 80’s strength and integrity is based on our ability to accurately challenge contract violations. These actions require the use of attorneys. Only if the Local 80 has dues money can it continue to retain attorneys to represent
Presently, Local 80 is insuring that all CSOs and SSOs owed benefits by the Bankrupt US Protect Security Corp receive those benefits in a timely manner.
Listed are some examples of cases Local 80 have arbitrated:

Nothing in life is free. Please don’t let the free-riders undermine Local 80’s ability to represent you. Please don’t sign any petition or card indicating your desire to vote or otherwise do away with the union security provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. This will only hurt you by weakening our collective strength through Local 80.
If you have a problem with Inter-Con please request a union representative prior to writing a statement or answering questions pertaining to an investigation which may result in your being disciplined. Management cannot select a shop steward to represent you. Article 1, Section 1.2.A. of the Local 80/Inter-Con agreement states: “The selection of a particular shop steward to represent an Employee shall be the prerogative of the Employee and the Union.” The contract is violated whenever management directs a shop steward to attend an interview and he/she has not been requested by the CSO/SSO or Union President.
12h Circuit CSOs/SSOs donated $2,300.00 to the Howard University Katrina Relief Fund. SSO Frank Starks (D.C. Superior Court) spearheaded the fund raising drive.
In closing,
Continue to pray for the families and friends of those 12th Circuit Court Security officers who have attended their last roll.
