Frequently Given Answers
These two guitars are the largest of their kind (Fender Stratocaster* and Telecaster*) that really play! They are also the only Giant Playable guitars used in performance, the only ones that are available to the music public to play and they're the only ones you don't have to plan your vacation to see, we bring them to you! They are the only ones that are a traveling show and since there is more than one guitar, that makes it the "The World's Largest Playable Guitar Collection!"
I know you're probably wondering why I built these guitars. Well, the "PAUL BUNYAN, LIMITED EDITION STRATOCASTER*", or "Babe the Big Blue Ax", was built to be on a float in the Charlotte NC Saint Patrick's Day Parade. Together with local surf group 'The Aqualads', and on behalf of the NPO Rock the Vote, it won the 'Best Float' award. The rest of the year was a blast that included many festivals and concerts, the highlight of which was the ERIC CLAPTON concert in Charlotte NC. I spent 4 hours backstage with the guitar and was invited to display it at the entrance of the venue!
The Telecaster* was built to coincide with the ROLLING STONES' "No Security" tour. Again the guitar was displayed outside the venue and some of the 'Stones crew came out to see the "TELECASTERUS COLOSSUS". The boys themselves didn't come out but rumor has it that the photos I sent back there with the crew had 'em giggling like little kids. A few days later I got a call from a 'Stones insider and he invited me to the show in MEMPHIS. It turned out great and the Memphis crowd loved the guitars! The following events proved to be great fun and many times I brought out both guitars.
As I mentioned, these are the largest playable guitars of their type (Telecaster*, honey blonde: Stratocaster*, blue) and are licensed by Fender. They are the real thing! Both are 13 feet tall, 4X the size of a regular guitar. Each of them weigh about 400 pounds and use electronics similar to regular guitars. The Strat* took 3 months to build and the Tele*, 2 1/2 months. Though I don't work for FENDER, I like their guitars and appreciate the many things they have done for music.
This Giant Playable Guitar Collection is currently under reveiw by the Guinness Book of World Records. Hopefully, it will appear in their next issue! Please click here to find out more.

What's next?
I'm currently working on my THIRD GUITAR. This next one is being built in honor of a living legend, Mr. Guitar himself, LES PAUL. 2002 is also the 50th anniversary of the Les Paul Guitar. I have a page devoted to |
