Project YZ250H
Here Is The Bike I Am Starting With. It Is A 1981 YZ250H. This Is How I Picked It Up With "SUN" Rims Already Laced To The Hubs. The Motor/Chassis Had Sat Outside In The Weather For Over 3 Years Before I Got It. Surprisingly Enough All The Plastic Was Still In Excellent Condition As Was The Frame And The Forks. I Will Be Posting Pics Of This Bike As It Comes Together.
Here Is The Frame After It Was Completely Stripped Of All Suspension Parts, Wheels, Etc. All Areas That Had Any Scratches Or Imperfections Were Ground And Polished Smooth, The Frame Was Checked Thoroughly For Any Cracks And None Were Found. Now It's Off To Be Powdercoated Along With Triple Clamps, Footpegs, Etc. All Nuts, Bolts, Axles, Etc. From This Bike Have Been Sent Out To Be Replated As Well.
WOW!!! Here it is, The frame after powdercoating. I had the triples, footpegs, rear brake stabilizer bar, handlebars, and a few other parts done at the same time. The frame now looks much better then when it was purchased new in 1981, It will hold up alot better as well. Now I just have to wait for all the fasteners to come back from the platers and assembly will begin! I have also found and purchased a set of NOS side # plates for this bike. Now I need to locate a NOS front # plate and I will have everything to make this bike perfect. A DG Pipe has also been purchased for this project along with a round aluminum Halman spark arrestor.
Here They Are The Almost Unobtainable! Yes, They Are NOS! I Was One Very Lucky Person To Get These Gems. I Found Them Advertised On "Mark's Swapmeet Page" (Thank You Rusty!) They Will Look Absolutely Sweet On This Bike When It Is Completed. I Have A Set Of NOS Fenders For It As Well And Will Be Posting Pics Of Them Too. I Will Be Getting The #1 Decals That Go On These Sideplates/Front # Plate Re-Produced Here In The Coming Weeks If Anyone Out There Is Needing A Set. The MonoX Decals For The Swingarm Will Be Getting Re-poped As Well. More Pics To Come!
