The Bailiwick of Tortosa, Templar reenactment in Artemisia (Montana)
Medieval Reenactment in Bozeman!
The Templars of Silver Keep are members of the SCA (www.sca.org), a group who
reenact the middle ages. In Bozeman we reenact the Crusades, concentrating on the
medieval Holy Order of Knights Templar. Most Templars historically were not Knights
but simple soldiers (Sergents) and this is the aspect we most cover.
We practice full contact armored fighting  (medieval European martial arts)
We also participate in medieval reenactment (Like civil war reenactment except
it's medieval, and not staged)
We engage in medieval Wars all over Montana and the USA.
        We have fun.

We are a historical studies society as well. We publish articles regularly in our and
other society periodicals.

We are NOT a religious group, but understand that faith was at the heart of medieval
life and thus needs to be depicted in our reenactments as we portray military monks
fighting the crusades. We encourage Saracen (medieval middle-eastern) personas as
well as either Turcopoles for the Order or as adversaries.

The Templars of Silverkeep, a small stalwart band of hero's that have made
Silverkeep (Bozeman) their home. They are all members of the Priory of Tortosa, the Templar
Order that makes it's home in the Kingdom of Artemisia.

More about us.
We in the Priory are more than a Household, we are close knit group of historians.
We are most active in the SCA we are also involved with other reenactment societies as well such as the Empire of Ironthorn (a free nationwide medieval reenactment group) and the contact for the Kingdom of Acre.

We feel that theirs lot's of room for the many medieval groups as it increases the quality of medievalism in general. Again the SCA is our primary focus, but it's not a requirement to join.

Membership (Free!)
We are open to anyone of good character and an interest in medieval times. Upon joining us you will be given a Free membership to the Empire of Ironthorn, though you will have to buy your own membership to the SCA if desired (Highly encouraged) it is not needed to join.

We reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason should reasons merit. No one under 18 (16 with signed parental waivor) can join. See below on how to join or more information.
OK, cool now how can I be a Templar too?

You need to be at least 18 yrs old (or 16 with a signed parental waiver) and have an interest in medieval history, that's it. We do not require SCA membership to join, but to participate in the MARTIAL activities you do. This is for insurance reasons.
