Vietnam Veterans of America Extends Sympathy to USS Cole Victims & Families

Vietnam Veterans Assistance Foundation of Louisiana in conjunction with Vietnam Veterans of America has played a leading role in the passage of important legislation, including bills which created the Vet Center program, establishment of the Veterans Job Training program and mandated health-care benefits for victims of Agent Orange exposure. VVAFL is vitally involved with service projects in most Louisiana communiities. VVAFL sponsored projects include:

* Agent Orange assistance program for veterans and their families

* Alcohol, substance abuse and post traumatic stress programs

*Support networks for Louisiana Vietnam veterans needing food and shelter

* Voluntary services in Louisiana VA Medical Centers including distribution of food and hygiene baskets during holiday seasons

* Homeless Veterans programs

* College scholarships

* Publication of the VVA  Today newsletter

* Maintenance of the VVAFL Website

These programs would not be possible without community sponsorship and support. A substantial share of gross sponsorship proceeds is used to defray the expenses of public education, administration and the cost of mass media. Your financial support will help us to improve and expand these programs to serve Louisiana Vietnam veterans and build a better America.
