GMud Installation Instructions.
STEP ONE - Download Software
First, click on the link at the bottom of this page that says "GMUD download". A pop-up window will appear; click on: Save to Disk or SAVE.
Another window will appear titled SAVE AS. In this window in the "SAVE IN" box if it says "DESKTOP" all you need to do is click "SAVE." If it doesn't say "desktop" you'll need to click on the drop down arrow to the right of the "save in" box, then move the slider bar that's on the right to the top until you see "desktop," then click on that. It should now read "save in desktop."
Click on SAVE or OK, and the download will begin.
STEP TWO - Start GMud
When the download is finished, if offered, click on the button at the bottom of the download screen that says OPEN to unzip the program. If not offered this option, go to your desktop and click on the gmud icon.
Winzip self-extractor should come up and it should say "unzip to C:\Gmud" . Click "unzip". It should say "6 files successfully unzipped" Click OK and then Close.
Now you need to locate the GMud program file, GMud32.exe and start it. Click on START, then the SEARCH or FIND FILES OR FOLDERS tab. Type in the name GMUD in the pop up box. Look for the application file GMUD32 with the colored blue and red icon. Right click on this and select "Create shortcut".
This will put an icon on your desktop so you can find the program. Now go to your desktop and double click on the icon and the gmud will open.

STEP THREE - Configuring GMud for AN
Click on EDIT and then WORLDS.
Click on the ADD button and a window opens displaying "Enter a name for the new world." Type in: AN ,and click OK.
Enter in the following information:
Host Name: dune.net
Port: 3010
Click on the Exit button.
STEP FOUR - Connecting to AN
Click on File and then Connect.
Select AN under MUD name and then click on the Connect button.
You are now in Araneum Nostrum. Congratulations!
