Ellery Queen was a team of two cousins, Frederic Dannay and Manfred B.
Lee. In the beginning Ellery Queen was their secret identity,
and when they appeared in public one of them, usually Dannay, would have a
mask on as though trying to protect his identity.
Ellery Queen became a mystery solving expert, using his keen powers of
observation and deduction, like Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson combined.
However, just as Holmes needed Watson, the character Ellery Queen needed
his father, Inspector Richard Queen. Without his father to
assist him, Ellery would not of been able to nose around into police
business.
These are just
some of the books that were written by Frederic Dannay and Manfred B. Lee
as Ellery Queen. Dannay and Lee went on to write over a dozen
publications with Ellery Queen as the author.
