1929 was an interesting year economically, for the United States, to say the least.  As far as the mystery Genre was concerned,  something happened that had an even more powerful impact.  With the publication of the Roman Hat Mystery, the literary landscape saw the beginning of a creative shooting star that would illuminate and transform the scene forever.  As an editor, collector, scholar, and historian, Ellery Queen was respected by all.

As author of some of the finest novels and short stories ever written, Ellery Queen is still the name by which everyone else is measured.   "There were giants in those days...;" and to this day and days to come, Ellery Queen is a towering presence.
