A watershed experience is a significant turning point affecting a person's life, actions and attitudes.
We believe that as we encounter the living God through the study of His word and through simple and honest worship, this can become a spiritual watershed for us. We are a group of people who have grown tired of our own spiritual lethargy and cynicism, and we have cast ourselves onto the generous grace of God for renewal and refreshment.
We have two weekly gatherings:
Watershed Bible study is a verse by verse, adult Bible study for thinking people of faith. We meet Wednesday evenings at 7:15 pm.
We've also started a Sunday evening worship service in the Green Hills area. For nine weeks we'll be studying the Fruit of the Spirit and learning about the transforming power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
We also host quarterly Watershed Workshops. These are 3 hour discussion seminars featuring classic and contemporary Christian books. Authors include: C. S. Lewis, G. K. Chesterton, Dorothy Sayers, A. W. Tozer etc. Email or call for more info.
If you would like to receive the Watershed quote of the week, simply email with a request.
For directions or more info on any of the above, reply via email to: WatershedStudy@aol.com or call 615-297-8116

Current Wednesday eve study:
On Wednesday evenings we're studying the New Testament book of Acts. The 28 chapters of this exciting book describe the coming of the Holy Spirit, the birth of the Christian church, and the wildfire-like spread of the good news of God's grace throughout the world. We'll study the lives and ministries of Peter and Paul. We'll watch the early church as it goes through the growing pains of internal tension and external opposition.
There's a lot that can be learned from the historical narrative of Acts about living in a dynamic relationship with the living God. We hope you and your friends can join us sometime!

Information that leads to transformation...
"Love is the first mark of a true and living church and truth is the second, because the Scriptures hold love and truth together in balance. Some Christians are so resolved to make love paramount, that they forget the sacredness of revealed truth. 'Let us drown our doctrinal differences', they urge, 'in the ocean of brotherly love!' Others are equally mistaken in their pursuit of truth at the expense of love. So dogged is their zeal for God's Word that they become harsh, bitter and unloving. Love becomes sentimental if it is not strengthened by truth, and truth becomes hard if it is not softened by love. We need to preserve the balance of the Bible which tells us to hold the truth in love, to love others in the truth, and to grow not only in love but in discernment."
--John Stott, from "What Christ Thinks of the Church: (Milton Keynes: Word UK, 1990), p. 44.
“We must play. But our merriment must be of that kind (and it is, in fact, the merriest kind) which exists between people who have, from the outset, taken each other seriously -- no flippancy, no superiority, no presumption.” -- C. S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory
“The critical issue today is dullness. We have lost our astonishment. The Good News is no longer good news, it is okay news. Christianity is no longer life changing, it is life enhancing.”
-- Mike Yaconelli, Dangerous Wonder
