Aug. 1914, during a battle at Mons, Belgium, soldiers on both sides told stories of an Army of Angels appearing. French and British troops were retreating from the German army. The Germans wound up retreating.

"An Angel with outstretched wings, like a luminous cloud" came between the Germans and Allies stated an eye witness.
