ARTICLE 2.000 BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION RELATED FEES
Sec. 2.100 Building Permit Fees
(a) The following schedule of fees shall be charged for permits for the construction of buildings inside the city limits of Oak Leaf, Texas, and for the alteration, addition, and repair of existing buildings in the city:
(b) All contractors must register with the City of Oak Leaf prior to construction permits issued.
(1) All residential new construction:
Single Family Dwellings based on living area square footage.
Up to 3,000 square feet $650.00
3,001 to 4,000 square feet $750.00
4,001 to 5,000 square feet $850.00
5,001 to 6,000 square feet $950.00
6,001 square feet and up $1,050.00
Inspection fees:
The above fees include electrical, plumbing, mechanical, tree preservation, and certificate of occupancy. First inspection is included in the cost of permits with re-inspection and additional inspections at $50.00 each.
(2) Additions and/or alterations (to existing home)
Up to four hundred (400) square feet $225.00
400 sq. ft. to 999 sq. ft. $300.00
1,000 sq. ft. and up $400.00
(3) Miscellaneous Construction Permit Fees:
(A) $.10 per sq. ft., but not less than $50.00 for detached or temporary building. If utilities are included, see Sec. I.
(B) $50.00 for a reinspection/additional inspection
(C) $50.00 minimum fee for permit not otherwise specified.
(D) $135.00 for above ground swimming pool.
(E) $135.00 for spa/hot tub.
(F) $50.00 for lawn sprinkler system.
(G) 1% of contract price for in the ground swimming pool.
(H) $90.00 fence permit; Section 2.200 below
(I) If separate from new building permit:
(i) Electrical $90.00
(ii) Temporary Pole $45.00
(iii) Plumbing $90.00
(iv) FFA Project (annual only) no fee. Temporary structure and pen must be inspected and disposed of at end of project.
(v) Fee at actual cost is required for work involving buildings or structures, the title of which is directly vested in the U.S. Government, State of Texas, Ellis County, City of Oak Leaf, or public school districts.
(vi) Inspections before or after normal hours $50.00
(J) $50.00 per permit(s) issued on a parcel/lot in which a previously approved tree preservation plan exists (less than five years old; as detailed in Chapter 3, Article 3.1800, Section 3.1804(d).

Section 2.200 Fence Construction Permit Fee
The minimum cost of the permit fee shall be $90.00. If lights, an electrical inspection fee will be applicable.

ARTICLE 1.000 ANIMAL CONTROL RELATED FEES
Sec. 1.100 Dog Registration Fee
The applicant shall pay to the secretary a sum approved by council as a registration fee. The registration may be done by mail for an additional fee of $1.00 and a copy of the certificate of vaccination. (Ordinance 9304 of 12/15/92)

Sec. 1.200 General Fees
(a) Registration
(1) Neutered/spayed animals $5.00
(2) Non-neutered/spayed animals $10.00
(3) Lost tag (re-issue) $5.00
(b) Late Registration--for animals not registered within 60 dys of residency or for failure to renew registration within 60 days of renewal date, the fee will increase by an additional $10.00
(c) Animal traps $40.00
(d) Dead animal pick up $20.00
(e) Called out, no animal found $30.00
(f) Court appearance by animal control officer $25.00 per hour
(g) Reported Biting $20.00
(h) Delivery of animal to entity outside of county $25.00 per hour

Sec. 1.300 Animal Pickup Fees
(a) A pickup charge of $50.00 plus any charges assessed by the pound will be paid by the animal’s owner.
(b) An additional $10.00 registration fee shall be assessed for any dog that requires pickup if the dog does not have current registration with Oak Leaf. The owner must bring proof of current vaccination to the secretary of Oak Leaf and obtain a release to pick up their animal and they will pay any charges incurred by the pound.
Sec. 1.400 Dangerous Dogs
(a) The owner of a dangerous dog shall pay an annual fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00).
(b) If an owner of a registered dangerous dog sells or moves the dog to a new address within the city, he/she, not later than the fourteenth (14th) day after the date of sale or move, shall notify the animal control or his or her designee. On presentation by the current owner of the dangerous dog's prior registration tag and a payment of a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00), the city shall issue a new registration tag to be placed on the dog's collar.
