THANKS TO OUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS!!!

We all are fortunate to have friends and neighbors willing to make the "extra effort" for our community. I am very sorry that I cannot identify all of those involved. But let us all give a big "hoop and holler of thanks" to Josef and Lee Gyorgy, Jerry Cole, the Salazar's, Bambi Hawkins and others I simply missed. All of the above spent a very full afternoon this past month raking, sweeping and carrying off the piles of leaves that have accumulated from our trees. The Village streets, parking/mailbox areas and parks look great. All of us are very appreciative of your efforts.

TREE TRIMMING

Progressive Landscaping will begin the annual Village tree trimming in December. They will also be cleaning up around their work areas. All residents adjacent to any of the parking lots/green belts or personal driveways are alerted that the trimmers will be in the area. We will not be forewarned, so PLEASE watch in your area. If you see the workers, move your vehicles in order to prevent any damage, scratches or dents from foliage falling. No trimming will be done to private residential trees.

On the subject of trees, the BOD is taking steps to have dead or dangerous trees removed from the Village perimeter areas. Some of the trees are dead; some almost dead; but those we have had selected represents a danger. We are not authorizing cutting/felling on any residential lots. Dave Hersch has investigated the subject and found that it is environmentally illegal to fell/cut any tree in the green belts. So those among us who are concerned about green belt tree removal, those trees will not be harmed.

The firm we are using to do the felling, will also cut and clean areas on private lots. The owner will pay for the service on an individual basis. We understand that log cutting is also available subject to the same individual costs.

If any Village property owner is opposed and/or objects to trees being removed from the Association's open areas behind or adjacent to their residence, they will be required to sign a responsibility release form. This signed and notarized form will relieve Winchester Village Home Owners Association of any and all responsibility should one of the Association owned trees cause ANY residential damage. Village residents will be notified in advance when the tree removal is to be started.

A MESSAGE TO PARENTS....

The Board of Directors of Winchester Village Homeowners Association takes great pleasure in the fact that we have young people residing in our community. The laughter, sounds of children at play and the young feeling they all portray, reminds us all of vigor and youth. They do make us feel young and in touch with children and their needs.

To our knowledge, none of the children/young adults residing in Winchester Village have ever committed acts of vandalism, destroyed property or any of the other issues that could affect us. We are lucky because we do enjoy the relative solitude many neighborhoods do not.

On occasion, an owner or two has been heard to complain about "the kids" trespassing on their lawns; playing outside the perimeters of the "green belts", or whatever. WE WANT the children to continue to perceive Winchester Village as their "home". AND IT CERTAINLY IS! But we are asking that parents "ask" their offspring NOT to play, walk or transverse to and from school across our fellow owner's private property. This "ask" and your child's courtesy, we feel, will only bolster the reputation of Winchester village being the unique community that it is, wherein we govern, live, enjoy and take care of ourselves!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

THINK WARM

VILLAGE SPEEDING

It is not my intention to continue harping on this speeding issue. But a number of vehicles have been observed driving very recklessly within the Village.  Most of the vehicles are not identifiable as residents/owners. PLEASE advise your guests/friends, that we have young people and treasured family pets in Winchester Village. Imagine how terrible it would be to attend to an injured child or pet that has been struck; all just to save a minute or two. THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE.

HOLIDAY SEASON
The Holidays are once again upon us and the Winchester Village Board offers in advance our Very Best Wishes. All of us on the board and the various coordinators that work in the interest of our Village, hope that all residents are blessed with good health and prosperity. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you all, that you have been provided with a listing of emergency numbers for your convenience. Please insure the listing is in a conspicuous place. Perhaps take a moment or two to check you’re in-home fire extinguishers. Make an effort NOT to overload your residence electrical systems. If in doubt, have your individual circuit breakers and systems checked by a qualified electrical professional. Let us all enjoy the season without mishaps!

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT PROPOSAL

OWNERS are reminded that the Property Management Proposal will be available for anyone to review simply by calling Dave Hersch when it is available. The present proposal written by Bradley Scott remains in a negotiation status, with the BOD having a number of questions to present. At such time as a final proposal is offered to the BOD, all owners will once again be invited to a. group meeting to discuss the proposal

BOARD MEETINGS

There appears to be much confusion regarding the monthly BOD meetings. The BOD wishes to bring it to everyone's attention that the BOD meetings have always been open to all. A standard phrase atop this publication and its predecessors has always announced the time and day of the monthly meetings. Any owner is invited to attend. Please however, if you have a topic to present before the board, please submit your item for the agenda, to the President prior to the meeting so that the topic can be placed on the agenda. The BOD will always include issues and/or proposals presented to the Board for review/action at the end of the meeting. These agenda items are considered on the agenda as "for the good of the Village".

FINANCIAL REPORT

For your information, please find attached a copy of the Village financial operating report through November 24, 2000. Note that this report DOES NOT include the Village Savings and/or CD accounts. That information is available from the Treasurer for those interested property owners
